Oregon Health & Science University is seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Echographer to join our team.   1. Conduct Ophthalmic Ultrasound Examinations: Perform high-quality, accurate and timely ophthalmic ultrasound examinations on patients using advanced ultrasound technology.
  2. Diagnose Eye Conditions: Utilize ultrasound imaging to diagnose and monitor various eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other ophthalmic diseases.
  3. Collaborate with Ophthalmologists: Work closely with ophthalmologists to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients, providing valuable input and insight based on ultrasound findings.
  4. Maintain Equipment: Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of all ophthalmic ultrasound equipment, troubleshoot any technical issues, and report any malfunctions or necessary repairs.
  5. Educate Patients: Communicate with patients about the ultrasound procedure, answering any questions and addressing any concerns to ensure their comfort and understanding.
  6. Record and Document Findings: Accurately record and document all ultrasound findings and patient information, maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to all HIPAA regulations.
  7. Contribute to Ophthalmic Research: Participate in ongoing ophthalmic research projects, providing valuable input and data from ultrasound examinations to contribute to the advancement of ophthalmic knowledge.
  8. Stay Up-to-Date with Technology: Stay current with advancements in ophthalmic ultrasound technology and techniques, attending trainings and conferences to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  9. Adhere to Safety Protocols: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of patients and staff during ultrasound procedures.
  10. Maintain a High Level of Quality: Adhere to established quality control and assurance standards to ensure accurate and reliable ultrasound results.
  11. Provide Excellent Patient Care: Demonstrate a compassionate and patient-centered approach, ensuring patients feel comfortable and well-cared for during their ultrasound examinations.
  12. Collaborate with Team Members: Work effectively and collaboratively with other members of the ophthalmology team, including ophthalmologists, optometrists, nurses, and technicians.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent

  • Completion Of An Accredited Ophthalmic Echography Program

  • Certification As A Registered Ophthalmic Ultrasound Biometrist (Roub) Or Registered Ophthalmic Echographer (Roe) Through The American Society Of Ophthalmic Ultrasonography (Asou)

  • At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Performing Ophthalmic Ultrasound Procedures, Preferably In A Clinical Or Hospital Setting

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Accurately Interpret And Analyze Echography Images And Data.
