
Fire Safety Officer
Develop, implement, and monitor the OHSU Fire Safety Program. This includes policies, fire drill programs, and associated education with a focus on collaboration, consultation, and problem-solving with occupants. Examine, review, and comment on construction project plans to ensure compliance with the applicable fire, building, and any other applicable technical codes, standards, laws and regulations (e.g. OARs, 2012 NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, Oregon Fire Code, IBC) and evaluate for operational and compliance impact to fire protection systems, access, egress, general storage. Review, evaluate, and create plans for addressing code changes and interpretations. Perform or accompany regulators on surveys, field verifications, and inspections; manages plans of action for identified fire and life safety deficiencies. Act as the OHSU liaison with Portland Fire Bureau and State of Oregon Fire Marshal’s Office.

Knowledge and experience in Design, construction and maintenance of buildings and systems as they relate to fire safety and building codes
Have or obtain within 2 years of hire (and maintain) applicable or related certification, such as FSM or CSP
