  1. Perform echocardiograms on pediatric patients in a safe and accurate manner.
  2. Operate and maintain state-of-the-art equipment to obtain high-quality images.
  3. Review patient medical history and explain procedures to patients and their families.
  4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate imaging protocols.
  5. Accurately document and maintain patient records and imaging data.
  6. Monitor patient vital signs and respond to any adverse reactions or complications.
  7. Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols.
  8. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain knowledge of current techniques and procedures.
  9. Provide compassionate and empathetic care to pediatric patients and their families.
  10. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  11. Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards in all interactions.
  12. Prioritize and manage workload to ensure timely and accurate completion of exams.
  13. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and regulations.
  14. Proactively identify and troubleshoot technical issues with equipment.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  16. Provide guidance and support to less experienced sonographers and students.
  17. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  18. Stay updated on advancements and developments in the field of echocardiography.
  19. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  20. Uphold the mission, values, and goals of Oregon Health & Science University and Doernbecher Children's Hospital.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Diagnostic Medical Sonography Or A Related Field.

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Rdms) Certification In Abdomen And/Or Ob/Gyn Specialties.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Preferably In A Pediatric Setting.

  • Knowledge And Experience With Pediatric Echocardiography Techniques And Equipment.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As Well As The Ability To Work Effectively In A Team Environment.
