Job Description

Optum is looking for an experienced Coding & Clinical Auditor to join our team! This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with an extensive background in auditing and clinical coding to help improve our healthcare system. As Coding & Clinical Auditor, you will perform coding audits, provide coding education, and review medical records to ensure coding accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations. You will also provide feedback to coding staff and management to improve coding accuracy.To be successful in this role, you must have a comprehensive knowledge of the applicable coding guidelines, including CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS. You should also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to effectively collaborate with clinicians and other stakeholders. Additionally, you should be comfortable reviewing and interpreting medical documentation.We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in healthcare by ensuring accurate coding and compliance. Responsibilities:

  1. Perform coding audits and provide coding education to ensure coding accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
  2. Review medical records to identify coding errors and provide feedback to coding staff and management to help improve coding accuracy.
  3. Possess comprehensive knowledge of applicable coding guidelines, including CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS.
  4. Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with clinicians and other stakeholders.
  5. Review and interpret medical documentation.
  6. Monitor coding trends and provide recommendations to improve coding accuracy.
  7. Monitor industry changes and update coding processes accordingly.
  8. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  9. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  10. Provide coding-related training to relevant stakeholders.
