  1. Conduct comprehensive and thorough investigations into healthcare-related issues, including patient safety concerns, fraud, waste, and abuse.
  2. Utilize a variety of data sources and investigative techniques to identify potential issues and gather evidence.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, compliance, and medical professionals to develop and execute investigation plans.
  4. Analyze and interpret data and findings to identify patterns, trends, and potential areas of concern.
  5. Prepare detailed reports and presentations outlining investigative findings and recommendations for corrective action.
  6. Stay current on industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices to ensure investigations are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  7. Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity throughout all investigations and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  8. Serve as a subject matter expert on clinical research and investigative techniques, providing guidance and support to team members.
  9. Effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, government agencies, and law enforcement.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve investigation processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  11. Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner at all times, upholding the values and standards of Optum.
  12. Participate in training and development opportunities to expand knowledge and skills related to the healthcare industry and investigative techniques.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Clinical Investigator At Optum Should Hold A Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That The Individual Has A Strong Foundation In Medical Knowledge And Can Understand Complex Medical Concepts.

  • Research Experience: Optum Requires Its Clinical Investigators To Have Prior Experience In Conducting Clinical Research. This Includes Designing And Implementing Clinical Trials, Analyzing And Interpreting Data, And Publishing Research Findings.

  • Knowledge Of Regulatory Guidelines: A Clinical Investigator Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Regulatory Guidelines Governing Clinical Research, Such As Good Clinical Practice (Gcp) And International Conference On Harmonization (Ich) Guidelines.

  • Strong Analytical Skills: Optum Values Individuals With Strong Analytical Skills, As The Role Of A Clinical Investigator Involves Analyzing And Interpreting Large Amounts Of Data. This Includes Statistical Analysis And The Ability To Draw Meaningful Conclusions From The Data.
