  1. Develop and lead the global clinical development strategy for life-saving medicines at Novartis, in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of clinical development plans, including clinical operations, regulatory affairs, and medical affairs.
  3. Provide medical and scientific expertise in global health to support the development of new medicines that address the unmet medical needs of patients worldwide.
  4. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, guidelines, and ethical standards in the design and conduct of clinical trials.
  5. Serve as the medical representative for Novartis in interactions with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, key opinion leaders, and patient advocacy groups.
  6. Analyze and interpret clinical trial data to inform decision-making and provide strategic recommendations for the development of new medicines.
  7. Lead and mentor a team of medical professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to drive their career growth.
  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in global health, clinical development, and medical science to continuously improve the development of new medicines.
  9. Champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the clinical development team and across the organization.
  10. Represent Novartis at conferences and scientific meetings to present clinical data and promote the company's mission to reimagine medicine.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Medical Director At Novartis Must Hold A Valid Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Medical Knowledge And Can Effectively Lead Clinical Development Programs.

  • Clinical Development Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Clinical Development In The Pharmaceutical Industry. This Will Demonstrate Their Understanding Of Drug Development Processes And Their Ability To Lead Global Clinical Trials.

  • Global Health Expertise: A Key Aspect Of This Role Is To Develop And Implement Global Health Strategies. Therefore, The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Global Health Issues And Experience In Developing And Executing Global Health Programs.

  • Leadership Skills: As A Medical Director, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Leading A Team Of Medical Professionals. Therefore, Strong Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Motivate And Inspire Others, Are Essential For This Role.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: In Order To Successfully Navigate The Complex Regulatory Landscape Of Global Health, The Candidate Must Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Global Regulatory Requirements And Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Regulatory Bodies. Previous Experience In Obtaining Regulatory Approvals For Clinical Trials Is Highly Desirable.
