  1. Lead the clinical development team in the planning, execution, and management of clinical trials for new treatments.
  2. Develop and implement strategies for the successful development of new and innovative treatments.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research and development, regulatory affairs, and commercial teams, to ensure alignment and execution of development plans.
  4. Stay current with industry trends, scientific advancements, and market insights to inform clinical development strategies.
  5. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  6. Manage and oversee the budget, timelines, and resources for clinical development projects.
  7. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards in the conduct of clinical trials.
  8. Communicate and present clinical development plans, progress, and results to senior management and stakeholders.
  9. Participate in meetings with external partners, including key opinion leaders, regulatory authorities, and healthcare organizations.
  10. Drive innovation and explore new approaches to enhance clinical trial design and execution.
  11. Oversee the preparation and submission of clinical trial documents, including protocols, study reports, and regulatory submissions.
  12. Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment within the clinical development team to drive high performance and achieve goals.
  13. Represent the company and its values in a professional and ethical manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Life Sciences: A Clinical Development Director At Novartis Should Possess A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Life Sciences, Such As A Phd, Md, Or Pharmd. This Advanced Degree Provides The Necessary Scientific Knowledge And Expertise To Lead Clinical Development Projects.

  • Extensive Clinical Development Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In Clinical Development, Preferably In The Pharmaceutical Industry. This Experience Should Include Successful Management Of Clinical Trials, Protocol Development, And Regulatory Submissions.

  • Strong Leadership And Management Skills: As A Clinical Development Director, One Must Have Excellent Leadership And Management Skills To Effectively Lead A Team Of Scientists And Other Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Delegate Tasks, Provide Guidance And Support, And Make Strategic Decisions.

  • Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements: Novartis Operates Globally And Has To Comply With Various Regulatory Requirements In Different Regions. Therefore, The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Global Regulatory Requirements, Including Fda, Ema, And Ich Guidelines.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A Clinical Development Director Should Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams, Communicate With Key Stakeholders, And Present Data To Senior Management. This Also Includes The Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With External Partners And Key Opinion Leaders In The Medical Community.
