- Properly clean and sterilize all medical equipment and instruments according to established protocols and guidelines.
- Inspect and assemble surgical instrument trays and equipment to ensure they are ready for use in procedures.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves, to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and guidelines to prevent the spread of infections and diseases.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel for repairs or replacement.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all sterilization processes, including tracking and logging equipment maintenance and usage.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and restocking supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely availability of sterile equipment for procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on new techniques and equipment in sterile processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Certified Sterile Processing Technician: Candidates Must Have A Current Certification As A Sterile Processing Technician From A Recognized Organization, Such As The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd) Or The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (Iahcsmm).
Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques: Applicants Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Sterilization Techniques, Including Steam, Ethylene Oxide, And Hydrogen Peroxide Sterilization Methods. They Should Also Be Knowledgeable About Sterilization Equipment, Such As Autoclaves And Ultrasonic Cleaners.
Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Sterile Processing Department Or In A Healthcare Facility Is Preferred. Candidates Should Have A Good Understanding Of Infection Control Protocols, Medical Terminology, And Surgical Instrumentation.
Attention To Detail: Sterile Processing Technicians Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure That All Equipment And Instruments Are Properly Cleaned, Sterilized, And Assembled. They Should Also Be Able To Follow Strict Protocols And Maintain Accurate Records.
