- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures following established protocols and procedures.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and addressing any concerns.
- Review patient medical history and pertinent clinical information to determine appropriate imaging techniques.
- Accurately document and maintain patient records in electronic medical record system.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to evaluate images and provide accurate interpretations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring proper functioning of equipment and supplies.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities to ensure accuracy and consistency of imaging services.
- Keep up-to-date with new developments and techniques in medical sonography by attending continuing education courses and conferences.
- Educate patients and their families about procedures, including pre and post-procedure instructions.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to improve patient outcomes and overall quality of care.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in training and mentoring new sonographers and students.
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills For Working With Patients And Healthcare Team Members
Completion Of An Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
Active Certification By The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms) Or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (Cci)
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Or Hospital Setting
