- Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams on patients, following established protocols and procedures.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology to accurately capture images and identify abnormalities.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, providing clear instructions and addressing any concerns.
- Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment, troubleshoot any technical issues, and report any malfunctions for timely repair.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to review and interpret images, providing accurate and timely reports for patient care.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Keep accurate records of procedures, patient information, and quality assurance data in accordance with department policies.
- Participate in continuing education and training opportunities to stay current with advancements in technology and techniques.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment needed for ultrasound procedures.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and compassion towards patients and their families, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience at all times.
Certification: A Qualified Sonographer At Harbor Pointe Obgyn Should Hold A Current Certification From The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms) Or The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt).
Experience: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting Is Preferred, With A Focus On Obstetrics And Gynecology Ultrasound.
Knowledge Of Equipment: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Extensive Knowledge And Proficiency In Operating Diagnostic Medical Equipment, Including Ultrasound Machines And Related Software.
Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial In This Role, As Sonographers At Harbor Pointe Obgyn Will Be Interacting With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis.
Attention To Detail: Attention To Detail Is Essential For Accurate And Thorough Ultrasound Imaging, As Well As For Maintaining Accurate Patient Records And Reports. The Candidate Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Work With Precision.
