Job Description

  1. Provide specialized care to postpartum mothers and their newborns.
  2. Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional health.
  3. Develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
  4. Monitor and record vital signs, progress, and any changes in patients' conditions.
  5. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  6. Educate new mothers on postpartum care and newborn care, including breastfeeding and safe infant care practices.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  8. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  9. Respond quickly and effectively to any emergency situations.
  10. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
  11. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  12. Keep up-to-date with current nursing practices and attend trainings and workshops as required.
  13. Foster a positive and compassionate environment for patients and colleagues.
  14. Advocate for patients' needs and rights.
  15. Demonstrate professionalism and ethical behavior in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Registered Nurse At Novant Health Is Required To Have A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution. This Education Provides A Foundation For Understanding The Complexities Of Healthcare And Prepares The Nurse For Advanced Roles And Responsibilities.

  • Current Rn License: A Valid And Current License As A Registered Nurse In The State Where The Job Is Located Is A Must For This Position. This Ensures That The Nurse Is Well-Versed In The State's Laws And Regulations Governing Nursing Practice.

  • Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience In Mother Baby Care: Novant Health Specifically Seeks Nurses With A Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience In Mother Baby Care. This Demonstrates The Nurse's Ability To Provide Specialized Care To Mothers And Newborns, Including Knowledge Of Postpartum Care, Breastfeeding Support, And Newborn Assessment.

  • Bls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification Is Required For All Registered Nurses At Novant Health. This Certification Ensures That The Nurse Is Trained In Emergency Response And Can Provide Life-Saving Measures In Critical Situations.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Registered Nurse At Novant Health, The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members Is Essential. Strong Interpersonal Skills Are Also Crucial For Building Trust And Rapport With Patients And Collaborating With Colleagues To Provide The Best Possible Care.
