  1. Develop and implement regional stroke care protocols and guidelines in collaboration with other healthcare providers.
  2. Monitor and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of stroke care across multiple facilities within the healthcare system.
  3. Provide education and training to healthcare providers on current best practices for stroke care.
  4. Serve as a resource and expert on stroke care for healthcare providers, patients, and their families.
  5. Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration among healthcare teams to ensure a seamless and coordinated approach to stroke care.
  6. Identify areas for improvement in stroke care and develop and implement action plans to address them.
  7. Stay up-to-date on advancements in stroke care and incorporate them into practice as appropriate.
  8. Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and resources to support stroke patients and their families.
  9. Coordinate and participate in stroke-related research projects and quality improvement initiatives.
  10. Collaborate with other regional and national stroke coordinators to share best practices and contribute to the advancement of stroke care.
  11. Provide leadership and support to stroke care teams, including guidance, training, and assistance with problem-solving.
  12. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to stroke care.
  13. Participate in the development and management of the stroke care budget.
  14. Serve as a liaison between the healthcare system and external agencies, organizations, and stakeholders involved in stroke care.
  15. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of stroke care activities and outcomes.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Healthcare Field Is Typically Required For A Regional Stroke Coordinator Position At Novant Health. This Will Ensure A Strong Foundation In Medical Knowledge And Healthcare Principles.

  • Clinical Experience In Stroke Care: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience In Stroke Care, Preferably In A Leadership Or Supervisory Role. This Will Provide The Necessary Expertise And Knowledge To Effectively Coordinate Stroke Care Across A Region.

  • Certification In Stroke Nursing: A Certification In Stroke Nursing, Such As The Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (Cnrn) Or Certified Stroke Registered Nurse (Csrn) Designation, Is Highly Desirable For This Role. This Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In Stroke Care.

  • Leadership And Project Management Skills: As A Regional Stroke Coordinator, Strong Leadership And Project Management Skills Are Essential For Overseeing Stroke Care Initiatives And Coordinating With Various Healthcare Teams. Experience In Leading And Managing Projects Is Highly Valued.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Critical For Success In This Role. Candidates Should Possess Strong Interpersonal Skills And Be Able To Work Collaboratively With Diverse Teams To Achieve Common Goals.
