- Conduct assessments and create individualized treatment plans for patients based on their specific needs and goals.

Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Therapy Or A Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Or A Closely Related Field Is Required For This Position. This Education Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Develop And Implement Effective Therapeutic Programs For Patients.
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (Ctrs) Certification: This Nationally Recognized Certification, Administered By The National Council For Therapeutic Recreation Certification (Nctrc), Demonstrates A High Level Of Expertise In The Field Of Recreation Therapy. It Is A Preferred Qualification For This Position.
Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital, Rehabilitation Center, Or Long-Term Care Facility, Is Highly Desirable For This Position. This Experience Demonstrates An Understanding Of The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Patients In A Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices And Therapeutic Interventions: A Strong Understanding Of Evidence-Based Practices And Therapeutic Interventions Is Essential For A Recreation Therapist At Novant Health. This Includes Knowledge Of Various Modalities Such As Music Therapy, Art Therapy, And Pet Therapy, As Well As The Ability To Adapt These Interventions To Meet The Individual Needs Of Patients.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Recreation Therapists At Novant Health Must Be Skilled Communicators, Able To Effectively Collaborate With Interdisciplinary Teams, Communicate With Patients And Their Families, And Document Patient Progress.
