- Conduct and interpret diagnostic sleep studies in accordance with industry standards and protocols.
- Prepare patients for sleep studies by explaining procedures, answering questions, and addressing any concerns.
- Monitor and document patient vitals, sleep stages, and other physiological data during sleep studies.
- Troubleshoot and maintain equipment used during sleep studies.
- Collaborate with physicians to review and analyze sleep study results and make recommendations for treatment.
- Educate patients on sleep hygiene and provide recommendations for improving sleep quality.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, procedures, and test results.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff.
- Stay updated on industry developments, advancements, and best practices related to polysomnography.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy is maintained at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain and improve technical skills.
- Assist with the scheduling and coordination of sleep studies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with equipment.

Certification In Polysomnography: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Certification In Polysomnography From A Recognized Organization Such As The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt) Or The American Academy Of Sleep Medicine (Aasm). This Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Sleep Studies And Interpret Results Accurately.
Knowledge Of Sleep Disorders And Treatment: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Various Sleep Disorders, Their Causes, And Treatment Options. This Includes Knowledge Of Different Types Of Sleep Studies, Such As Diagnostic And Titration Studies, As Well As The Ability To Recognize Abnormal Sleep Patterns And Provide Appropriate Interventions.
Experience With Polysomnography Equipment: Novant Health Is Looking For A Candidate Who Is Familiar With The Latest Polysomnography Equipment And Software. The Candidate Should Have Hands-On Experience In Setting Up And Calibrating Equipment, Troubleshooting Technical Issues, And Ensuring The Accuracy Of Data Collected During Sleep Studies.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Polysomnograph Technologist, The Candidate Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
