  1. Collect and process blood specimens from patients with accuracy and efficiency.
  2. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure the safety and quality of specimens.
  3. Follow all infection control and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals to ensure a positive patient experience.
  5. Adhere to all lab policies and procedures to maintain quality assurance and compliance.
  6. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  7. Utilize proper phlebotomy techniques and equipment to minimize patient discomfort and ensure accurate results.
  8. Monitor and report any abnormal or unexpected results to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  9. Keep track of inventory and supplies and notify superiors when supplies need to be replenished.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on new techniques and procedures.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to provide exceptional patient care.
  12. Demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients to create a comfortable and welcoming environment.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by superiors.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Phlebotomy Program: Candidates For A Phlebotomy Technician Job At Novant Health Must Have Completed An Accredited Phlebotomy Program, Providing Them With The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Job Duties.

  • Current Certification As A Phlebotomy Technician: Candidates Must Hold A Current Certification As A Phlebotomy Technician From A Recognized Certification Agency, Such As The American Society Of Phlebotomy Technicians (Aspt) Or The National Phlebotomy Association (Npa).

  • Knowledge Of Phlebotomy Procedures And Techniques: Applicants Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Phlebotomy Procedures, Including Venipuncture, Capillary Puncture, And Specimen Collection And Handling.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: As Phlebotomy Technicians Interact With Patients On A Daily Basis, Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Essential For Providing A Positive Patient Experience.

  • Ability To Maintain Accurate And Organized Records: Candidates Should Possess Strong Organizational Skills And Attention To Detail To Ensure Accurate Record-Keeping And Specimen Labeling, As Well As Following Proper Safety Protocols And Infection Control Measures.
