  1. Assist in surgical procedures: The Outpatient Surgical Technologist will be responsible for providing assistance during surgical procedures, including preparing and organizing surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies.
  2. Ensure high-quality patient care: The main responsibility of the Outpatient Surgical Technologist will be to ensure that patients receive high-quality care during surgical procedures. This includes monitoring patients' vital signs, assisting with positioning, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
  3. Maintain a safe and sterile environment: The Outpatient Surgical Technologist will be responsible for maintaining a safe and sterile environment in the operating room. This includes following all infection control protocols and properly disposing of waste and hazardous materials.
  4. Collaborate with surgical team: The ideal candidate for this role will be a team player who can effectively communicate and collaborate with the surgical team. This includes working closely with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  5. Adhere to policies and procedures: The Outpatient Surgical Technologist will be responsible for adhering to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations related to surgical procedures.

  7. Maintain inventory: The Outpatient Surgical Technologist will be responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of surgical supplies and equipment, and ordering replacements as needed.
  8. Educate patients: The Outpatient Surgical Technologist will be responsible for educating patients about their procedures, answering any questions they may have, and providing instructions for post-operative care.
  9. Maintain documentation: The Outpatient Surgical Technologist will be responsible for accurately documenting all procedures, patient information, and any complications or incidents that occur during surgery.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technologist Program: Candidates For This Position Should Have Completed A Formal Training Program In Surgical Technology From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Their Duties Effectively.

  • Certification As A Surgical Technologist: In Addition To Completing A Training Program, Candidates Should Also Hold A Certification As A Surgical Technologist (Cst) From A Recognized Certifying Body Such As The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa). This Certification Demonstrates Their Proficiency And Adherence To Professional Standards.

  • Previous Experience In An Outpatient Surgical Setting: Ideal Candidates Should Have Prior Experience Working In An Outpatient Surgical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Facility. This Experience Will Enable Them To Understand The Unique Demands And Challenges Of This Role.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Equipment: Outpatient Surgical Technologists Are Responsible For Preparing And Maintaining Surgical Equipment And Supplies, As Well As Assisting Surgeons During Procedures. Therefore, Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Surgical Procedures And The Equipment Used In A Variety Of Surgeries.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: As Part Of A Surgical Team, Outpatient Surgical Technologists Need To Communicate Effectively With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
