  1. Dispense medications and prepare chemotherapy treatments for oncology patients according to established policies and procedures.
  2. Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare team members to ensure accurate and timely delivery of medications.
  3. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of medications dispensed.
  4. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of medications and supplies specific to oncology needs.
  5. Ensure proper storage and handling of medications, following all safety protocols.
  6. Provide education and counseling to patients on their medications, including potential side effects and drug interactions.
  7. Perform pharmaceutical calculations and compounding of medications as needed.
  8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing new protocols and procedures.
  9. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  10. Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in oncology pharmacy to provide the best possible care to patients.
  11. Assist in training and mentoring new pharmacy technicians and interns.
  12. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  13. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
  14. Handle and resolve any patient or medication-related issues with professionalism and sensitivity.
  15. Adhere to all safety and infection control policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht) Credential From The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb)

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience As A Pharmacy Technician In An Oncology Setting

  • Knowledge Of Chemotherapy Medications, Dosage Calculations, And Administration Protocols

  • Familiarity With Electronic Health Record Systems, Medication Dispensing Systems, And Inventory Management
