Novant Health is seeking a certified Oncology Pharmacy Technician II to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional medication management services to our oncology patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of chemotherapy and infusion medications, as well as experience with compounding and sterile products.   1. Provide exceptional medication management services to oncology patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  2. Utilize strong knowledge of chemotherapy and infusion medications to accurately and safely prepare and dispense medications.
  3. Perform compounding and preparation of sterile products in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  4. Maintain inventory of chemotherapy and infusion medications, ensuring proper storage and handling.
  5. Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare team members to ensure the best possible care for patients.
  6. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on new treatments and medications in the field of oncology.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education on medications and answering any questions or concerns.
  9. Ensure all necessary documentation and records are accurately maintained and updated in accordance with regulations.
  10. Demonstrate a commitment to providing compassionate and empathetic care to patients and their families during a difficult time in their lives.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: The Ideal Candidate For An Oncology Pharmacy Technician Ii Position At Novant Health Must Hold A Valid Certification As A Pharmacy Technician And Be Registered With The State Board Of Pharmacy.

  • Oncology Experience: Previous Experience Working As A Pharmacy Technician In An Oncology Setting Is Required For This Role. The Candidate Must Demonstrate A Thorough Understanding Of Chemotherapy Medications, Compounding Techniques, And Handling Hazardous Drugs.

  • Knowledge Of Drug Interactions: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Drug Interactions And Be Able To Identify Potential Issues When Filling Prescriptions. A Thorough Knowledge Of Oncology Drug Regimens And Their Potential Side Effects Is Also Necessary.

  • Attention To Detail: Oncology Pharmacy Technicians At Novant Health Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure Accuracy When Compounding And Dispensing Medications. They Must Also Have Strong Organizational Skills To Keep Track Of Multiple Patients And Their Unique Treatment Plans.

  • Communication Skills: This Role Requires Frequent Communication With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals. The Ideal Candidate Must Have Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Convey Information And Collaborate With The Healthcare Team.
