- Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety protocols are followed at all times
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients according to established protocols and physician orders
- Perform various nuclear medicine imaging procedures, including PET/CT scans, SPECT scans, and planar imaging, in a timely and accurate manner
- Monitor patients' vital signs and reactions during procedures, providing appropriate care and addressing any concerns or complications
- Review and analyze images, ensuring quality and accuracy before submitting for interpretation by a radiologist
- Maintain accurate patient records, including procedure documentation, patient history, and radiation exposure information
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate imaging protocols and provide quality patient care
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, including radiation safety and infection control protocols
- Educate patients on procedures and answer any questions or concerns they may have, providing a calming and reassuring presence throughout the process
- Continuously expand knowledge and skills through participation in training, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
Bachelor's Degree In Nuclear Medicine Technology Or A Related Field From An Accredited Program.
Certification By The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (Nmtcb) Or The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Nuclear Medicine Technologist In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.
Proficiency In Operating And Maintaining Nuclear Medicine Equipment, Including Pet/Ct Scanners, Spect Scanners, And Gamma Cameras.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Radiation Safety Protocols And Regulations.
