1. Conduct laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a registered medical technologist.
2. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
3. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all assigned tasks and maintain detailed records of test results.
4. Troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise and report any abnormalities or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
5. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure timely delivery of test results and provide support as needed.
6. Stay up-to-date with new techniques and technologies in the field of laboratory science and actively participate in continuing education opportunities.
7. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment as needed and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
8. Follow established quality control procedures and participate in quality assurance activities.
9. Help maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
10. Demonstrate excellent communication skills and maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with patients, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals.
11. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
12. Attend departmental meetings and participate in process improvement initiatives.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned by the laboratory manager.
