  1. Provide specialized medical expertise in the field of neuro-oncology to diagnose and treat patients with brain and spinal cord tumors.
  2. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
  3. Stay up-to-date on the latest research and advancements in neuro-oncology to provide cutting-edge treatment options to patients.
  4. Monitor and track patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  5. Educate patients and their families about their condition and treatment options.
  6. Work with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for patients, including coordinating with surgeons, radiologists, and other specialists.
  7. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care and maintain patient confidentiality.

  9. Act as a resource and consultant for other healthcare professionals on cases related to neuro-oncology.
  10. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records and documentation.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Neuro-Oncologist At Novant Health Must Have A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.

  • Residency Training: The Candidate Should Have Completed A Residency Program In Neurology Or Oncology And Be Board-Certified In Both Specialties.

  • Fellowship In Neuro-Oncology: A Fellowship In Neuro-Oncology Is Highly Preferred, As It Provides Specialized Training And Expertise In The Treatment Of Brain And Spinal Cord Tumors.

  • Experience In Clinical Trials: Novant Health Places A Strong Emphasis On Research And Innovation. Therefore, Experience In Conducting And Leading Clinical Trials In Neuro-Oncology Is Highly Desirable.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Neuro-Oncologists At Novant Health Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals, Patients, And Their Families.
