- Greet and welcome patients and visitors to the medical unit with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual.
- Schedule appointments for patients and manage the daily appointment schedule.
- Collect and verify patient insurance and personal information, ensuring all necessary forms are completed accurately.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Communicate with patients and their families regarding any necessary paperwork or documentation needed for their visit.
- Assist with patient registration and check-in process, ensuring all required information is obtained and entered correctly.
- Direct patients to the appropriate waiting area and inform staff of their arrival.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring all supplies are stocked and readily available.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service, addressing any concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient and seamless patient flow throughout the unit.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and record keeping.
- Keep track of office supplies and place orders as needed.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Continuously strive to improve upon the patient experience and provide exceptional service to all individuals.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Is Required For This Position, As It Demonstrates Basic Education And Communication Skills Necessary For The Job.
Medical Office Experience: Prior Experience Working In A Medical Office Or Healthcare Setting Is Preferred, As It Shows Familiarity With Medical Terminology, Patient Scheduling, And Electronic Health Records.
Interpersonal And Communication Skills: Excellent Interpersonal And Communication Skills Are Essential For A Medical Unit Receptionist, As The Role Involves Interacting With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Other Staff Members On A Daily Basis.
Organizational And Multitasking Abilities: The Ability To Handle Multiple Tasks Efficiently And Stay Organized Is Crucial For A Medical Unit Receptionist. This Includes Managing Patient Appointments, Answering Phone Calls, And Completing Administrative Tasks In A Timely Manner.
