  1. Assist in the development and implementation of radiation safety protocols and procedures.
  2. Perform quality assurance tests on medical equipment and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  3. Work closely with experienced medical physicists to learn and apply principles of radiation physics in a clinical setting.
  4. Participate in patient treatment planning and delivery processes, including dose calculations and treatment plan reviews.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective use of radiation therapy.
  6. Contribute to ongoing research and development projects in the field of medical physics.
  7. Maintain accurate documentation and records of all work performed.
  8. Attend training sessions and conferences to stay updated on advancements in the field.
  9. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  10. Take initiative to identify and report any equipment malfunctions or issues.
  11. Demonstrate strong attention to detail in all tasks performed.
  12. Continuously seek opportunities to learn and grow within the field of medical physics.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow all HIPAA regulations.
  14. Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals.
  15. Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Graduate Degree In Medical Physics From A Campep-Accredited Program: The Medical Physics Resident Must Have A Strong Foundation In Medical Physics Principles And Practices, Which Can Be Gained Through Completing A Graduate Degree Program Accredited By The Commission On Accreditation Of Medical Physics Education Programs (Campep).

  • Board Certification Or Eligibility: Candidates For The Medical Physics Resident Position Should Have Or Be Eligible For Board Certification From The American Board Of Radiology (Abr) Or American Board Of Medical Physics (Abmp). This Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Competency In The Field Of Medical Physics.

  • Familiarity With Radiation Therapy Equipment And Procedures: The Medical Physics Resident Should Have Experience And Knowledge Of Various Radiation Therapy Delivery Systems And Procedures, Including Linear Accelerators, Brachytherapy, And Stereotactic Radiosurgery. This Will Enable Them To Assist In The Implementation And Maintenance Of These Systems.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: Medical Physics Involves Dealing With Complex Mathematical And Physical Concepts. The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Possess Strong Analytical Skills And Be Able To Think Critically To Solve Problems Related To Radiation Therapy Treatment Planning And Delivery.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Medical Physics Resident Will Be Working Closely With A Multidisciplinary Team Including Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, And Dosimetrists. Therefore, Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential For Effective Collaboration And Delivery Of High-Quality Patient Care.
