1. Develop and implement patient safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
2. Lead and oversee safety initiatives and programs across all departments and facilities.
3. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions as needed.
4. Collaborate with department heads and staff to ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
5. Manage and analyze safety data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
6. Provide training and education to staff on safety protocols, best practices, and new initiatives.
7. Investigate and document all safety incidents and report findings to appropriate parties.
8. Collaborate with infection control and quality improvement teams to ensure a safe and clean environment.
9. Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and organizations to stay updated on industry best practices and regulations.
10. Develop and manage the patient safety budget.
11. Foster a culture of safety and accountability among all staff members.
12. Stay updated on the latest advancements in patient safety and implement new strategies and technologies as appropriate.
13. Serve as the point of contact for patient safety concerns and inquiries.
14. Prepare and present reports to senior management on the status of patient safety initiatives and progress towards goals.
15. Oversee and support the patient safety committee and/or team.
16. Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns, and gather feedback on patient safety measures.
17. Provide guidance and support to staff during safety-related incidents and emergencies.
18. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
19. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback, coaching, and development opportunities for direct reports.
20. Act as a liaison between the organization and regulatory bodies during safety inspections and audits.
