
Lactation Consultant

As a Lactation Consultant, you will play a vital role in supporting and educating new mothers in their breastfeeding journey. - Provide one-on-one lactation consultations to new mothers and their families, both in-person and virtually.
- Assess and evaluate breastfeeding techniques and offer guidance and support to help mothers establish and maintain successful breastfeeding.
- Educate mothers on the benefits of breastfeeding and provide information on proper nutrition and infant care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans for breastfeeding mothers and babies.
- Conduct group education sessions and support groups to educate and empower new mothers.
- Keep up-to-date with current research and practices in lactation and breastfeeding to provide the most current and evidence-based care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of consultations and provide appropriate documentation to healthcare providers.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and other team members to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Serve as a resource for nursing staff and other healthcare providers regarding lactation and breastfeeding support.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to lactation and breastfeeding support.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor while providing care and support to patients and their families.
- Adhere to legal and ethical standards in all aspects of job duties.
- Attend required trainings and continuing education opportunities to maintain certification and stay current in the field.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field
Certified Lactation Consultant (Clc) Or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (Ibclc) Credential
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Lactation Support And Education
Knowledge Of Current Evidence-Based Practices And Guidelines For Lactation Support
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Work With Diverse Patient Population And Healthcare Team Members.
