  1. Perform comprehensive evaluations and diagnoses of patients with digestive disorders and diseases.
  2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients in accordance with best practices and evidence-based medicine.
  3. Perform various endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, and endoscopic ultrasounds.
  4. Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients and their families to educate them on their condition, treatment options, and expected outcomes.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, surgeons, and nurses, to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients, including progress notes, test results, and treatment plans.
  8. Stay current with advancements and changes in the field of gastroenterology and implement new techniques and treatments as appropriate.
  9. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards and guidelines in patient care and medical practice.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and strive to continually improve patient care outcomes.
  11. Act as a patient advocate and ensure that patients receive compassionate and empathetic care.
  12. Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings, conferences, and continuing education opportunities.
  13. Provide mentorship and guidance to medical students, residents, and fellows in the field of gastroenterology.
  14. Collaborate with Novant Health leadership to help fulfill the organization's mission of improving the health of our communities.
  15. Maintain a professional and positive attitude while representing Novant Health and upholding its values and standards.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Gastroenterologist At Novant Health Must Have A Medical Degree From An Accredited Medical School.

  • Board Certification: Candidates Must Be Board Certified In Gastroenterology By The American Board Of Internal Medicine.

  • State License: A Valid And Unrestricted License To Practice Medicine In The State Where The Position Is Located.

  • Fellowship Training: Completion Of An Accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship Program.

  • Clinical Experience: A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience In Gastroenterology, With A Focus On Diagnosing And Treating Digestive Disorders.
