- Provide specialized knowledge and expertise in Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) to deliver life-saving care to patients in critical condition
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of ECMO principles and protocols, and stay updated on industry advancements and best practices
- Operate and troubleshoot ECMO equipment and systems, ensuring proper function and maintenance
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to assess, monitor, and provide comprehensive care to patients on ECMO
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and ECMO parameters, and make adjustments as needed to maintain optimal support
- Educate and train other healthcare staff on ECMO procedures and protocols
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation related to ECMO treatment and patient progress
- Communicate and coordinate with other medical teams, including respiratory therapists, to provide comprehensive patient care
- Stay current on safety and infection control practices, and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and excellent communication skills when interacting with patients and their families during a challenging time.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field, With A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Critical Care Or Cardiac Nursing.
Certification As An Ecmo Specialist Through The Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (Elso).
Experience With Managing And Troubleshooting Ecmo Equipment And Procedures.
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills, Able To Work Effectively In A Multidisciplinary Team.
Knowledge Of Current Ecmo Guidelines And Best Practices, And Ability To Stay Updated On Advancements In The Field.
