Job Description

Novant Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician I to join our team and help us maintain a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. As an Environmental Services Technician I, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our community. To be considered for this position, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent and possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.   1. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff by performing a variety of cleaning and disinfection tasks.
  2. Follow proper procedures for waste management, including handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  3. Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  4. Utilize appropriate cleaning and disinfecting products to ensure a high level of cleanliness and infection control.
  5. Collaborate with other environmental services team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and maintain a cohesive and efficient work environment.
  6. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
  7. Maintain inventory and stock supplies to ensure an adequate supply of cleaning and disinfecting products.
  8. Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and visitors to provide excellent customer service and address any concerns or complaints.
  9. Attend training and educational sessions to stay updated on environmental services policies, procedures, and best practices.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve environmental services processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  11. Support and participate in sustainability initiatives to reduce waste and promote environmentally friendly practices.
  12. Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude at all times while representing Novant Health and its mission to improve the health of the communities we serve.
  13. Adhere to the organization's code of conduct and ethics, promoting a culture of trust, respect, and integrity.
