- Conduct endoscopic procedures under the supervision of a physician or registered nurse.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures by monitoring vital signs and responding to any changes or concerns.
- Assist with patient positioning and preparation for procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including properly disinfecting and sterilizing equipment.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
- Document and maintain accurate records of procedures, supplies used, and patient information.
- Follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of disease and maintain a safe environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices and new procedures.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including safety and confidentiality protocols.
- Act as a patient advocate by ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
- Handle equipment and supplies safely and report any malfunctions or shortages to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in endoscopy technology.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or physician.
Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technology Or Endoscopy Technician Program.
Active Certification As A Certified Gastroenterology Technician (Cgt) Through The Society Of Gastroenterology Nurses And Associates (Sgna).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As An Endoscopy Technician In A Hospital Or Ambulatory Surgical Setting.
Knowledge Of Endoscopic Equipment And Procedures, Including Proper Cleaning And Maintenance Protocols.
Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team, With Strong Communication And Organizational Skills.
