Job Description

As an END Tech III in the Neurology and Sleep department, you will play a crucial role in assisting with diagnostic testing and procedures for patients with neurological and sleep disorders.   1. Perform neurodiagnostic tests: Conduct a variety of neurodiagnostic tests including electroencephalograms (EEGs), evoked potentials (EPs), nerve conduction studies (NCS), and polysomnograms (PSGs) on patients in the neurology and sleep department.
  2. Assist with diagnostic procedures: Aid in the preparation and execution of diagnostic procedures such as lumbar punctures, nerve blocks, and muscle biopsies under the supervision of a physician.
  3. Monitor patient status: Monitor patients before, during, and after tests and procedures to ensure their safety and comfort, and report any changes or concerns to the supervising physician.
  4. Maintain equipment: Ensure all neurodiagnostic equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition, troubleshoot any technical issues, and report any malfunctions or need for repairs.
  5. Keep accurate records: Document all patient information, test results, and procedures performed in accordance with departmental protocols and regulatory standards.
  6. Educate patients: Provide patients with information about the neurodiagnostic tests and procedures they are undergoing, answer any questions or concerns, and offer support and reassurance during the process.
  7. Collaborate with healthcare team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive care to patients with neurological and sleep disorders.
  8. Maintain confidentiality: Adhere to strict confidentiality and privacy policies to protect patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  9. Stay updated on industry developments: Attend conferences, workshops, and other educational opportunities to stay current on new developments and best practices in neurodiagnostic technology.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Neuroscience, Neurodiagnostics, Or Sleep Technology.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Neurodiagnostic Testing, Including Eegs, Emgs, And Sleep Studies.

  • Certification As A Registered Eeg Technologist (R. Eeg T.) Or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt).

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Neuroanatomy, Physiology, And Sleep Disorders.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
