- Respond to emergency calls and provide prompt and efficient medical care to patients in need.
- Assess the patient's condition and provide appropriate treatment and interventions in accordance with established protocols.
- Administer first aid, CPR, and other life-saving measures as needed.
- Safely transport patients to medical facilities while providing continuous monitoring and care.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of patients and self.
- Monitor and maintain necessary medical equipment and supplies.
- Continuously educate yourself on current medical practices and techniques to provide the best care possible.
- Remain calm and composed in high-pressure and fast-paced emergency situations.
- Collaborate with other emergency personnel, such as firefighters and police officers, to provide coordinated care to patients.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards, including patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during stressful situations.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain necessary certifications and skills.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, representing Novant Health in a positive light.
Valid Emt Certification: Candidates Must Possess A Valid Emt Certification From An Accredited Institution.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Applicants Should Have A Current Bls Certification From The American Heart Association.
Prior Experience: Preference Will Be Given To Candidates With Prior Experience Working As An Emt In A Hospital Or Emergency Response Setting.
Physical Fitness: The Job Of An Emt Can Be Physically Demanding, So Applicants Must Be In Good Physical Condition And Able To Lift And Carry Heavy Loads.
Interpersonal Skills: Emts Are Often The First Point Of Contact For Patients In Emergency Situations, So Strong Communication And People Skills Are Essential For This Role.
