  1. Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records for patients in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  2. Monitor and review electronic medical records for completeness and accuracy, making necessary updates and corrections.
  3. Work closely with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation and storage of patient information.
  4. Train and educate staff on proper use and maintenance of electronic medical record systems.
  5. Perform regular audits and quality checks to ensure data integrity and HIPAA compliance.
  6. Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in electronic medical records.
  7. Collaborate with other departments and team members to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  8. Stay current with industry trends and updates related to electronic medical records.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and security of patient records at all times.
  10. Assist with the implementation of new electronic medical record systems and upgrades.
  11. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families regarding questions or concerns about their electronic medical records.
  12. Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
  13. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with team members and other departments.
  14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall patient experience.
  15. Handle any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management.

  • Attention To Detail: Accuracy Is Crucial In The Healthcare Industry, And This Is Especially True For Managing Electronic Medical Records. Candidates Should Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure That Records Are Complete And Error-Free.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Healthcare Professionals And Patients Is Important For This Role. Emr Specialists May Need To Clarify Information Or Provide Training On The Use Of The System, So Strong Communication Skills Are Essential.

  • Understanding Of Hipaa Regulations: Emr Specialists Are Responsible For Maintaining The Confidentiality And Security Of Medical Records, And Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Hipaa Regulations. Familiarity With Other Relevant Laws And Regulations, Such As The Hitech Act, Is Also Desirable.
