Dosimetrist

Novant Health is currently seeking an experienced Dosimetrist to join our team. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills who is committed to providing the highest quality of care to our patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing radiation treatment plans that meet the needs of our patients and ensure the accuracy of the radiation dose delivered.The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of experience in a radiation therapy department and possess a current certification in Radiation Therapy Dosimetry from the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB). The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate with patients, families, and colleagues. In addition, the Dosimetrist must be able to work independently and exercise good judgment when making decisions. A commitment to patient-centered care and a strong focus on customer service is essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop radiation treatment plans to meet the needs of patients and ensure accuracy of radiation dose delivered.
2. Establish strong interpersonal relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
3. Exercise good judgment and make decisions independently.
4. Provide high-quality care and customer service.
5. Maintain current certification in Radiation Therapy Dosimetry from the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board.
6. Stay up to date on the latest technologies and treatments related to dosimetry.
7. Monitor radiation doses to ensure safety for patients.
8. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
9. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop patient-specific treatment plans.
10. Perform quality assurance checks on dosimetry plans and treatments.
