Job Description

Are you passionate about helping individuals achieve their optimal health through nutrition? Do you have experience in bariatric and weight management? Novant Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietitian to join our Southeast Bariatrics team in Charlotte. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients by providing personalized nutrition counseling and education. We are looking for a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual who is committed to helping our patients achieve their weight loss goals.   1. Conduct individual nutrition assessments and develop personalized meal plans for bariatric patients.
  2. Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients on healthy eating habits, portion control, and long-term weight management strategies.
  3. Collaborate with the medical team to develop comprehensive treatment plans for bariatric patients.
  4. Monitor and track patient progress and make adjustments to nutrition plans as needed.
  5. Stay up-to-date on the latest research and trends in bariatric and weight management to provide the most current and effective nutrition recommendations.
  6. Educate patients on the importance of proper nutrition and its impact on overall health and well-being.
  7. Work closely with patients to address any barriers or challenges they may face in following their nutrition plan.
  8. Develop and lead group education sessions on nutrition and weight management for patients and their families.
  9. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and nurses, to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  11. Adhere to all ethical and professional standards in the field of dietetics.
  12. Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education to enhance knowledge and skills in bariatric and weight management.
  13. Serve as a resource and mentor for other members of the healthcare team on nutrition and weight management.
  14. Continuously assess and improve processes and protocols related to nutrition and weight management for bariatric patients.
  15. Demonstrate a compassionate and empathetic approach in working with patients to support their physical and emotional well-being.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nutrition, Dietetics, Or A Related Field From An Accredited University.

  • Registered Dietitian (Rd) Or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (Rdn) Certification From The Commission On Dietetic Registration.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Weight Management Or Bariatric Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Evidence-Based Practices In Nutrition And Weight Management.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Educate And Counsel Patients And Collaborate With Healthcare Team Members.
