- Prepare and serve meals to patients and residents, ensuring all dietary needs and restrictions are met.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area, following proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Collaborate with dietary team members to plan and prepare menus that meet patients' and residents' dietary requirements.
- Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Ensure meals are served on time and at the appropriate temperature.
- Communicate effectively with patients, residents, and healthcare team members to address any dietary concerns or requests.
- Maintain accurate records of meals served and dietary restrictions for each patient and resident.
- Adhere to all dietary and safety regulations and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with training and mentoring new dietary team members.
- Continuously strive to provide exceptional service to patients and residents, promoting a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
- Maintain knowledge of current food trends and dietary guidelines, and make suggestions for menu improvements.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of food and service provided to patients and residents.
- Attend department meetings and trainings as required.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Dietary Aide / Cook Job At Novant Health Is A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Education And Literacy Skills Necessary For The Job.
