Job Description

Novant Health is seeking an experienced, motivated Coding Audit Response Specialist to join our team. We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who is accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of coding audit response and the ability to anticipate and respond quickly to coding-related inquiries.This position requires excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. A minimum of three years’ experience in coding auditing and response is required, as well as a certification in professional coding from either the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). The successful candidate must also have experience with coding software and databases, such as 3M Coding and Reimbursement System (CRS).At Novant Health, we are committed to providing our patients with exceptional care and we are looking for an individual who can help us do that. Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor coding-related inquiries and provide timely responses.
  2. Utilize coding software and databases, such as 3M Coding and Reimbursement System (CRS), to audit coding accuracy.
  3. Review coding accuracy for medical services and procedures and provide guidance to coding staff.
  4. Ensure compliance with federal and state coding regulations.
  5. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of coding standards and best practices.
  6. Serve as a resource for coding staff, providing coding guidance and assistance.
  7. Prepare coding reports for internal and external review.
  8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate coding in accordance with standards.
  9. Respond to coding inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  10. Provide excellent customer service and support for patients and providers.
