
Clinical Pharmacist - Critical Care

- Provide specialized pharmaceutical care to patients in the critical care setting, focusing on improving their health and well-being.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement treatment plans for patients in critical care.
- Monitor and review medication orders for appropriateness, safety, and effectiveness.
- Conduct medication therapy management and ensure proper dosing, administration, and monitoring of medications.
- Educate patients and their families about medications and potential side effects.
- Stay up-to-date on current pharmaceutical treatments and advancements in the field of critical care.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including medication histories and treatment plans.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication management.
- Respond to and resolve medication-related queries and concerns from patients and healthcare providers.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations and guidelines related to pharmacy practice.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of medications and supplies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing best practices related to pharmaceutical care in critical care.
- Serve as a resource and mentor for other pharmacists and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers.

Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree From An Accredited Institution: A Clinical Pharmacist At Novant Health Must Possess A Pharmd Degree, Which Is The Minimum Educational Requirement For This Position. This Degree Ensures That The Pharmacist Has A Thorough Understanding Of Drug Therapy And Can Effectively Manage Critical Care Patients.
Board Certification In Pharmacotherapy: At Novant Health, A Clinical Pharmacist In Critical Care Must Be Board-Certified In Pharmacotherapy. This Certification Demonstrates Advanced Knowledge And Skills In Managing Complex Medication Regimens And Providing Clinical Pharmacy Services In Critical Care Settings.
Previous Experience In Critical Care Pharmacy: Candidates For This Position Must Have Previous Experience Working As A Clinical Pharmacist In A Critical Care Setting. This Experience Allows The Pharmacist To Be Familiar With The Unique Challenges And Complexities Of Managing Critically Ill Patients.
Strong Clinical Knowledge And Skills: A Clinical Pharmacist At Novant Health Must Possess Strong Clinical Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Manage Critical Care Patients. This Includes A Deep Understanding Of Disease States, Drug Interactions, And Medication Dosing In Critically Ill Patients.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork Abilities: Working In A Critical Care Setting Requires Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills. The Clinical Pharmacist Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Other Healthcare Professionals And Work Collaboratively To Provide The Best Care For Patients.
