If you have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Child Life, along with 3+ years of experience in a healthcare setting, we would love to have you on our team. - Provide emotional support and guidance to children and families during hospitalization and medical procedures.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate activities and interventions to promote coping and normalization for children in the hospital.
- Conduct assessments to identify the psychosocial needs of patients and collaborate with the healthcare team to create individualized care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and child life principles to enhance the patient experience and promote positive outcomes.
- Advocate for the needs and rights of children in the healthcare setting.
- Train and supervise child life interns and volunteers.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of interventions and patient progress.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Stay current with research and best practices in the field of child life and incorporate them into practice.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and resources to enhance the support and services available to patients and families.
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to facilitate communication and promote a family-centered approach to care.
- Assist in the development and implementation of child life programs and services within the hospital.
- Participate in the planning and execution of special events and activities for patients and families.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards set by the child life profession and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Bachelor's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience As A Child Life Specialist In A Healthcare Setting.
Certification As A Child Life Specialist From The Association Of Child Life Professionals (Aclp).
Advanced Knowledge And Understanding Of Child Development, Coping Mechanisms, And Therapeutic Play Techniques.
Excellent Communication, Interpersonal, And Organizational Skills, With A Strong Ability To Work Collaboratively With Interdisciplinary Teams.
