  1. Accurate Coding: Ensure accurate and timely coding of medical services using current coding guidelines and regulations.
  2. Maintain Highest Standards: Uphold the highest coding standards and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  3. Coding Expertise: Utilize in-depth knowledge and expertise in medical coding to accurately assign codes to all services and procedures.
  4. Timely Submission: Ensure timely submission of coded documents to meet billing and reimbursement deadlines.
  5. Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of coded documents.
  6. Continuous Learning: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations through continuous learning and training.
  7. Collaboration: Work closely with the healthcare team to ensure accurate and complete documentation for coding.
  8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all coding and billing regulations, including HIPAA guidelines.
  9. Coding Audits: Participate in coding audits and provide accurate and timely responses to any discrepancies.
  10. Team Player: Collaborate with team members and contribute to the success of the organization by providing accurate coding support.
  11. Adherence to Policies: Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures related to coding and billing.
  12. Professionalism: Maintain a professional and ethical demeanor at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Coding Certification: A Certified Professional Coder Iii At Novant Health Must Possess A Current Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Certification From The American Academy Of Professional Coders (Aapc).

  • Extensive Coding Experience: Candidates Must Have At Least Five Years Of Experience In Medical Coding, With A Demonstrated Proficiency In Cpt, Icd-10, And Hcpcs Coding Systems.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Coding Guidelines: A Thorough Understanding Of Coding Guidelines, Including Those Related To Medicare, Medicaid, And Commercial Payers, Is Essential For This Role.

  • Familiarity With Electronic Health Records: The Ability To Navigate And Code Within An Electronic Health Records (Ehr) System, Such As Epic, Is A Must For This Position.

  • Strong Analytical Skills: This Role Requires A Candidate With Excellent Analytical Skills, As They Will Be Responsible For Accurately Assigning Codes And Identifying Coding Errors Or Discrepancies.
