- Assist patients with registration and paperwork.
- Collect and update patient information, including medical history and insurance information.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including taking vital signs and documenting patient complaints.
- Assist healthcare providers with examinations and procedures as needed.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for testing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
- Schedule appointments and arrange for necessary tests or procedures.
- Handle phone calls and messages from patients, healthcare providers, and other departments.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Adhere to all relevant medical and safety protocols.

Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: A Certified Medical Assistant At Novant Health Must Have Completed A Recognized Medical Assistant Program, Providing Them With The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Their Job Effectively.
Active Certification From A Recognized Certifying Body: Novant Health Requires All Certified Medical Assistants To Hold An Active Certification From A Recognized Certifying Body Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or The American Medical Technologists (Amt).
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Certified Medical Assistant At Novant Health, One Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: A Thorough Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Is Essential For A Certified Medical Assistant At Novant Health. This Includes Knowledge Of Diagnostic Tests, Medications, And Medical Equipment.
