- Perform patient intake and triage, including obtaining vital signs, medical history, and chief complaint.
- Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by physician.
- Educate patients and their families on pulmonary conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, including documenting patient information, test results, and treatment plans.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments, tests, and procedures for patients.
- Prepare and sterilize medical equipment and supplies.
- Monitor and track inventory of medical supplies and medications.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
- Provide support and assistance to patients and their families during difficult situations.
- Stay updated on current medical practices and procedures related to pulmonary conditions.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in maintaining accreditation standards.
- Foster a positive and compassionate environment for patients and their families.
- Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with patients and colleagues.

Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: A Certified Medical Assistant Must Have Completed An Accredited Program That Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills For The Role.
Certification As A Medical Assistant: In Addition To Completing An Accredited Program, A Certified Medical Assistant Must Also Hold A Valid Certification From An Accredited Certifying Agency Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).
Knowledge Of Pulmonary Care: As A Certified Medical Assistant In The Pulmonary Department, Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Pulmonary Diseases, Conditions, And Treatments, As Well As The Ability To Assist With Pulmonary Procedures And Tests.
Experience In A Clinical Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Pulmonary Department, Is A Valuable Qualification For A Certified Medical Assistant At Novant Health. This Experience Helps Candidates To Be Familiar With The Fast-Paced Environment And The Specific Responsibilities Of The Role.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A Certified Medical Assistant At Novant Health Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Their Families, And The Healthcare Team. This Includes The Ability To Provide Compassionate Care And Maintain Patient Confidentiality.
