- Provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients with gastrointestinal conditions.
- Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and effective care for patients.
- Utilize advanced technology and equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, medication lists, and test results.
- Ensure a clean and organized clinical environment, following all infection control and safety protocols.
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the physician.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, procedures, and medication instructions.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the physician.
- Assist with procedures and surgeries, ensuring proper equipment and supplies are available.
- Collaborate with insurance companies and other healthcare facilities to coordinate patient care.
- Attend continuing education and training opportunities to enhance skills and stay current with best practices in healthcare.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.

Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: A Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Should Have Completed A Formal Education Program Accredited By The Commission On Accreditation Of Allied Health Education Programs (Caahep) Or The Accrediting Bureau Of Health Education Schools (Abhes).
Certification As A Medical Assistant: Candidates Should Have A Valid Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).
Experience In A Gi Clinic Setting: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In A Gi Clinic Or A Similar Healthcare Setting Is Often Required For This Position. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Specific Procedures And Protocols Followed In A Gi Clinic.
Knowledge Of Electronic Health Records (Ehr): With The Increasing Use Of Ehr Systems In Healthcare, Proficiency In Using These Systems Is A Vital Qualification For A Cma In A Gi Clinic.
