
Certified Medical Assistant- Family Physician

- Provide patient care: The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing compassionate and high-quality patient care in accordance with Novant Health standards.
- Assisting physician: The Medical Assistant will assist the Family Physician in various procedures and treatments, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of patient care.
- Maintain patient records: It will be the responsibility of the Medical Assistant to accurately record and update patient information and medical history in electronic health records.
- Perform administrative tasks: The Medical Assistant will be required to perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient inquiries.
- Conduct diagnostic tests: The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for conducting various diagnostic tests, including taking and recording vital signs, collecting specimens, and performing basic lab tests.
- Educate patients: The Medical Assistant will educate patients on their medical conditions, treatment plans, and provide necessary instructions for at-home care.
- Sterilization and infection control: It will be the responsibility of the Medical Assistant to maintain a clean and sterile environment by following proper infection control protocols.

Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assisting Program: A Certification From An Accredited Program Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Proper Education And Training In Medical Assisting.
Certification As A Certified Medical Assistant (Cma): This Certification Is Provided By The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) And Ensures That The Candidate Has Passed A Rigorous Exam And Is Proficient In Medical Assisting Skills.
Experience In A Family Physician Setting: Prior Experience As A Medical Assistant In A Family Physician Office Demonstrates Familiarity With The Specific Needs And Procedures Of This Type Of Medical Practice.
Knowledge Of Electronic Health Records (Ehr): Familiarity With Ehr Systems Is Essential In Modern Healthcare, And Candidates With Experience In Using Ehrs Will Be Better Equipped To Navigate The Electronic Systems Used At Novant Health.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Certified Medical Assistant Working In A Family Physician Office, The Candidate Will Be Interacting With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Strong Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Well In A Team Setting Are Crucial For Success In This Role.
