1. Greet and welcome patients as they arrive at the clinic, creating a warm and friendly environment.
2. Assist providers with patient care by taking vital signs, documenting medical history and current medications, and preparing patients for examinations.
3. Perform basic medical procedures such as administering injections, collecting specimens, and assisting with minor office procedures.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including entering data into electronic medical records systems.
5. Educate patients on procedures, medications, and treatment plans as directed by the provider.
6. Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
7. Coordinate patient appointments and referrals, including scheduling follow-up appointments and obtaining necessary authorizations.
8. Monitor and maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper stock levels and organization.
9. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
10. Continuously seek opportunities to improve patient satisfaction and quality of care, including participating in training and development programs.
11. Build and maintain strong relationships with patients and their families, providing compassionate and empathetic care.
12. Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify and address any barriers to patient care and work towards solutions.
13. Adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards, including HIPAA regulations and OSHA guidelines.
14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with data collection and reporting as needed.
15. Maintain current knowledge of medical assistant best practices, procedures, and guidelines and incorporate them into daily work.
