- Provide excellent customer service by warmly welcoming patients and their families to Novant Health.
- Display a compassionate and caring attitude towards patients, making them feel comfortable and at ease.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits.
- Assist with patient intake by taking and recording vital signs, collecting medical histories, and updating patient information.
- Administer medications and treatments under the direction of healthcare providers.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and procedures, including collecting and preparing specimens for testing.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and other patient care areas.
- Communicate with patients regarding test results, medication instructions, and follow-up appointments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings.
- Keep abreast of current medical trends and procedures to provide the best quality of care to patients.
- Support and promote Novant Health's mission and values in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned by healthcare providers or management.
Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: The Candidate Must Have Completed A Certified Medical Assistant Program From An Accredited Institution To Ensure They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills For The Job.
Certification From A Recognized Organization: The Candidate Must Be Certified As A Medical Assistant By A Recognized Organization Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: A Certified Medical Assistant At Novant Health Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures To Assist Healthcare Providers In Their Daily Tasks.
Experience In A Clinical Setting: Previous Experience In A Clinical Setting Is Preferred For This Role To Ensure The Candidate Is Familiar With The Day-To-Day Operations And Can Handle The Fast-Paced Environment Of A Healthcare Facility.
Strong Communication And Organizational Skills: As A Certified Medical Assistant, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Interacting With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Other Staff Members. Therefore, Strong Communication And Organizational Skills Are Essential For This Role.
