Acute Care Pharmacy Technician - Certified

To be successful in this position, you must possess a current Pharmacy Technician Certification and have a strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology and procedures. - Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently under the direction of a pharmacist.
- Ensure medication orders are properly entered and processed in the pharmacy system.
- Maintain inventory levels and restock medications as needed.
- Perform medication reconciliation and assist with medication therapy management.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely medication administration.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding medication instructions and potential side effects.
- Keep accurate records of all medication transactions and assist with billing and insurance claims.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain knowledge of current pharmaceutical practices and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations related to pharmacy practice.
- Assist with quality improvement initiatives and suggest ways to improve efficiency and patient care.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and visitors.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Certification: A Valid Certification As An Acute Care Pharmacy Technician From A Recognized Institution Or Organization, Such As The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb).
Relevant Experience: At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Certified Acute Care Pharmacy Technician In A Hospital Or Acute Care Setting.
Proficiency In Medication Management: Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Medication Management Procedures, Including Proper Storage, Dispensing, And Administration Of Medications.
Attention To Detail: The Ability To Accurately And Efficiently Maintain Patient Medication Records, Understand And Follow Prescriptions, And Ensure Proper Dosage And Timing Of Medications.
Communication And Teamwork: Excellent Interpersonal And Communication Skills, And The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Pharmacists, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals To Provide Safe And Effective Medication Therapy For Patients.
