  1. Dispensing Medications: Responsible for accurately and safely dispensing medications to patients in acute care settings.
  2. Medication Management: Ensure proper management and storage of all medications in accordance with healthcare regulations and guidelines.
  3. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on medication usage, potential side effects, and proper administration techniques.
  4. Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels of medications and supplies, ensuring an adequate supply for patient needs while minimizing waste.
  5. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and timely delivery of medication to patients.
  6. Adhere to Safety Protocols: Strictly adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safe handling and distribution of medications.
  7. Documentation: Accurately document all medication dispensing and patient interactions in electronic health records.
  8. Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance initiatives to continuously improve the pharmacy department's processes and procedures.
  9. Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest pharmaceutical developments, regulations, and best practices to enhance knowledge and skills.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid Certification As A Pharmacy Technician From A Recognized Organization, Such As The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb).

  • Acute Care Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience As A Pharmacy Technician In An Acute Care Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Emergency Room.

  • Knowledge Of Drug Dispensing: A Strong Understanding Of Medication Dispensing Processes, Including Unit-Dose Packaging, Iv Compounding, And Controlled Substance Handling, Is Essential For This Role.

  • Attention To Detail: Acute Care Pharmacy Technicians Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure Accurate Preparation And Dispensing Of Medications, As Well As Maintaining Complete And Accurate Patient Records.

  • Communication Skills: This Role Requires Frequent Communication With Pharmacists, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are Crucial For Success In This Position.
