Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Sr. Histotechnician to join the Northwestern Medicine team. As a Sr. Histotechnician, you will be responsible for preparing and staining human tissue specimens and performing related laboratory procedures. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong knowledge of histology and laboratory procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. Our team is committed to providing the best possible care to our patients, and we want a Sr. Histotechnician who shares our commitment and dedication to patient care and service.The ideal candidate for this role will have a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field, as well as at least three years of experience as a Histotechnician. The successful candidate must also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and stain human tissue specimens according to laboratory protocols.
  2. Perform other laboratory procedures as needed.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of specimen preparation and staining.
  4. Adhere to health and safety regulations in the laboratory.
  5. Follow laboratory procedures and quality assurance guidelines.
  6. Assist with laboratory maintenance and troubleshooting.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  8. Utilize appropriate laboratory equipment and materials for specimen preparation and staining.
  9. Assist with training new employees in the laboratory.
  10. Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Histology
