Job Description

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, as well as providing excellent customer service to our patients. The successful applicant will be a self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity to use your skills to make a real difference in people’s lives.To be considered for this position, you must possess a current Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Illinois, along with a high school diploma or equivalent. You must also have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, along with knowledge of pharmaceuticals, inventory management, and mathematics. In addition, you must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a commitment to providing the highest level of customer service.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications.
  2. Maintain excellent customer service and ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction.
  3. Maintain current Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Illinois.
  4. Ensure accuracy and precision in dosage calculations.
  5. Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals.
  6. Maintain knowledge of pharmaceuticals and related products.
  7. Ensure appropriate documentation of all medications dispensed.
  8. Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner.
  9. Maintain clean and organized work environment.
  10. Comply with all state and federal laws and regulations.
