
Patient Access Specialist-Patient Registration
Our Northwestern Medicine team is looking for a talented Patient Access Specialist-Patient Registration with a passion for providing excellent service. The Patient Access Specialist-Patient Registration is an integral part of our patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery. The ideal candidate has exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong attention to detail. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our patients have a positive experience with the registration process.We require a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting. Experience in patient access or patient registration is preferred. You must be knowledgeable of healthcare insurance, authorization, and reimbursement regulations as well as medical terminology. Responsibilities:
- Greet patients upon arrival and ensure that they are properly registered for their appointment.
- Verify patient’s insurance and other relevant information.
- Accurately enter data into the hospital’s electronic medical records system.
- Assist patients with questions regarding the registration process and their rights and responsibilities.
- Ensure that all forms and documents are properly completed and signed.
- Ensure that patient’s financial information is recorded accurately and payments are collected in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all patient information is kept confidential.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of healthcare insurance, authorization, and reimbursement regulations.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and excellent communication skills.
- Remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on computer systems and other technologies used in the registration process.
Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting
