Patient Access Specialist-Patient Registration

Our Northwestern Medicine team is looking for a talented Patient Access Specialist-Patient Registration with a passion for providing excellent service. The Patient Access Specialist-Patient Registration is an integral part of our patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery. The ideal candidate has exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong attention to detail. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our patients have a positive experience with the registration process.We require a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting. Experience in patient access or patient registration is preferred. You must be knowledgeable of healthcare insurance, authorization, and reimbursement regulations as well as medical terminology. Responsibilities:

1. Greet patients upon arrival and ensure that they are properly registered for their appointment.
2. Verify patient’s insurance and other relevant information.
3. Accurately enter data into the hospital’s electronic medical records system.
4. Assist patients with questions regarding the registration process and their rights and responsibilities.
5. Ensure that all forms and documents are properly completed and signed.
6. Ensure that patient’s financial information is recorded accurately and payments are collected in a timely manner.
7. Ensure that all patient information is kept confidential.
8. Maintain a thorough knowledge of healthcare insurance, authorization, and reimbursement regulations.
9. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and excellent communication skills.
10. Remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on computer systems and other technologies used in the registration process.
